I'm all over this.
Way back when i was a wee Smokey, i enjoyed all sorts of monster type films. Mostly Godzilla, i was completely ignorant of the american monster mash. films like Reptilicus made me wary of the whole genre in america even further. They were just so very horrible. that is until i caught Clash of the Titans on TV. it came on after my saturday morning cartoons. being about 3 years old, the alternative was Golf so i opted to give this clumsy flick a chance. i'm glad i did.
It was a feast of special effectrs. the state of the art claymation blended as perfectly as it could with the live action scenes. Skeletons danced, horses flew, and snake-women menaced. all of this culminated into a final clash with the undersea titan known as the Kraken. i was in utter awe of this film. Every second that passed grobbed me tighter and tighter, cementing my love of big-budet monster films to this very day. Thje bar had been set pretty high and most films fall, but there are a few that are just as good, if not better. i'm hoping i check this remake into the latter column.
